While showcasing Poushali's work, this website is also a tribute to Manipuri
Dance. Indian dance is an enigma that has enthralled millions of people across the world. Among the many classical dance styles
of India, Manipuri is the one that is least known, though possessing of a depth and elegance that's quintessential to Indian
culture.
A critic has described Manipuri Dance as a river, with its varying moods
- sometimes soft and graceful, and at others, forceful and vigorous. Despite all odds, Manipuri Dance has been able to retain
the pristine purity while, at the same time, adapting itself to the demands of the modern stage.
This site is an attempt
to delve into the depths of this beautiful dance form and create a healthy interest in it.
